My time in Student Government has revolved around creating an active body that serves not as a cog of college operations, but as an independent, foundational institution ready to serve the needs of our community. Moreover, this goal includes that ensuring those most in need have an equitable ability to receive resources necessary for their success. These efforts include:
While I am discussing my experience, I would like to note that much of my work does originate from the platform and foundation created by our late Student Body President Ben Callinder, and our now President Dara Ferguson. Starting this position with a semester's worth of progress already accomplished certainly made the transition easier, but also made it my mandate to ensure the SGA completed this platform and vision. It would not have been possible without the support of the administration, the SGA itself, and student organizations who shared in the common goal of creating an environment where all can achieve their full potential. Our success in this goal and many more makes me proud and grateful to have served and to continue to work with everyone across our community. |

My extracurricular work at Davidson has been centered on working to create tangible policy initiatives to work on mobilizing and creating resources for students coming from marginalized communities, to bring to light issues that often are not discussed in our daily campus discourse, and to benefit the greater community at our institution. These efforts include:
Much of the work that I have been attempting to mobilize on campus is a based off the framework of so many others who have come before me in my time at Davidson and have worked to get this institution to where it is today. While our experiences and our platforms are our own, we believe that our conviction and our relentless drive will take Davidson to the next level. |
